Every few weeks the Northern Alliance arrives at a dock in our marina in North Vancouver to unload frozen fish into containers which are shipped to Russia. The ship stays only for a few days while the catch is unloaded, the ship is provisioned and fueled, and repairs are made. I have done a number of sketches and plein air paintings where I attempted to capture this scene. This painting was completed in the studio.
