I was inspired to paint the Portland Breakwater light (aka Bug Light) in Portland, Maine after a trip there on a beautiful August afternoon. Instead of staying on the wall like most photographs that you see of this lighthouse, I opted for a lower angle closer to the water. I painted this piece in my signature style, detailed on the focal point and heavily textured on the water and rocks.
