On the Way Home

On the way home from my daughter and son-in-laws I drive east for a coupla miles, Then I turn south onto the blacktop and looked to my right to the west...this is the sky I saw! The foreground and background were only midly interesting and mostly dark values. The sky was amazing. I had to stop and take a picture of it make some quick notes see if my camera in my phone woudl even see it. And then I drove home to draw it while I still had a very fresh memory of it. The next few days had no painting time in them. Because I thought about it so much and had planned the colors in my head the painting came together and really portrayed what I saw.
