McWay Falls, Big Sur

This magical site south of Monterey, CA is a magnet for me whenever I get to visit my beloved Monterey Peninsula and points south. The waterfall along Hwy 1 in Big Sur, McWay Falls, used to fall directly into the sea. The beach there is a relatively recent "renovation" after a landslide half a mile north of this little cove a number of years ago.
The ever-shifting colors of the California coast and the occasional drifting sea otter make this a fascinating, must-paint motif.
