This scene was inspired by a dusty road just outside my hotel room at the Plein Air Convention and Expo in Santa Fe, New Mexico in May, 2022. I sat outside in the late afternoon after a great day of listening to and observing featured artists' demonstrations and did some color studies and a quick plein air sketch. I completed the painting in my studio back home.
