Arcing across backyards in the upper Midwest, are these harbingers of the warmer season ahead. Fragrant and flailing in the wind, lilacs are the reward for those of us in the tundra of Minnesota to say congratulations, you made it through another winter. Here I painted these clusters of purple joy, smiling at me as I inhale their awesome presence.
