Challenger

In many rugged mountain ranges in the west, mountain goats can be found. They are incredible animals. A good friend captured these two squaring off. The focus and intensity was inspiring! I was challenged by the wide variety of textures and used a combination of drawing pencils, mechanical pencils, and powdered graphite/charcoal to capture them. I used additional references and inspiration from my local mountain range to create a scene that matched the strength of this interaction.
