I love to paint flowers and natural forms. The painting Flowers and Bubbles is mostly inspired by Dutch floral painting of the 17th century. The symbolism of the transience of Vanitas is projected into the painting.
The whole bouquet never existed. I composed it according to individual studies of real flowers, which I painted continuously for the entire 2 years while the painting was created.
