Common but Sacred.

My painting medium was oil and my substrate was a gesso primed board. My inspiration is based on the Biblical sacraments found in the New Testament. It is painted from life in my studio using studio lighting. I was challenged by the contrast of the metal in the challis against the porous texture of the bread, depicting the nuances of the value shifts in the objects.
