French Yellow Confit Pot with Plums & Walnuts

Blue plums are one of my favourite subjects to paint and they paired so beautifully with my French pot. I found a Pewter goblet and some Soft French cheese to accompany my little feast and added the walnuts for good measure.I loved the way the waxy paper folded open so I left it in the setup.I set all of this up and painted it from life. I had painted the background on a board beforehand and I love the way the neutral colour behid added depth and atmosphere and made the colours sing in the arrangement.
