My mother Alicia Zavala Galván an established writer and poet wrote this poem to go with my painting


She has arrived
making her elegant entrance with beauty
Accompanied by members of the animal kingdom
selected especially as escorts
Those that live on land 
A lion with regal appearance and cunning
A bear with strength and endurance 
In the sky are agile beings
of flight and speed like the eagle
Yet she did not forget other flying creatures
Smaller and diverse yet no less graceful
like the Cardinal and the Monarch
to adorn her presence
She is covered in sunflowers
A bright sun enhances her presence
In the far distance a figure
walks slowly away
casting a shadow
making his departure for this year
