I painted this on location on the outskirts of Florence, Italy. This painting was about capturing the mood of the countryside surrounding the city during spring. I loved the pops of bright purple and white from the trees blossoming, as well as the way the red of the Duomo contrasted with the bright greens of the grass and cypress trees in the foreground.
